50 Cent Explains Why You’ll Never Succeed

In an interview about his new book in the latest issue of Fortune, 50 Cent hits on exactly what's wrong with 95% of independent online businesses: People...live too much in the now. They go for what makes them comfortable right then instead of the future. His co-author continues: Whenever he has a business decision, he doesn't concern himself with the upfront money; he's thinking three years down the line. Too many ... Keep reading »

When you're trying to make enough money online to quit your day job, few things are as helpful as spending some time talking with someone who's done it.  Alan LeStourgeon from Affiliate Confession is one of those guys -- and one of the good ones.  He was kind enough to take some time right in the middle of packing for his vacation to let me interview him about ... I’m not Reading Your Partial Feed

Many people believe that if they show only partial posts in their RSS feeds that more people will come back to their site to read the whole thing. Dumb. What conference would be best, though?  I'm highly partial to ... Keep reading »

Free Business Ideas

Back in May, Jeremy Schoemaker said: The more success you have in business the less opportunities are available for you. I just didn't buy that, though, because my experience had been completely the opposite.  Since selling my site, I had just been finding opportunity after opportunity.  They were literally endless. After awhile, though, my experience began to be the same as his: There are an extraordinary amount of opportunities to make ... Keep reading »

Following Obama Could Kill Your Business

Today the U.S. capital gains rate stands at 15%. That means if you sell a business that you've owned for more than a year, you owe the government 15% in taxes -- $150,000 on a $1,000,000 sale. Obama wants to raise that to as much as 28%, though. So to net the same amount with a 28% rate as you do with a 15% rate, you'd have to ... Keep reading »
