I realized while looking through a lot of the WordPress themes that I linked to last week (Nobody Cares What Your Blog Looks Like) that the majority of them just weren’t great. That weren’t terrible by any means, but if I were starting with a new theme, I wouldn’t recommend most of them. That experience, coupled with the very low signal-to-noise ratio of WordPress’s official theme site, spurred me to create my own site with just the best WordPress themes that I’ve found.
Modeled after Unmatched Style, I give you Unmatched Themes. There are only nine themes listed so far, but I plan on adding one a day for as long as I can.
There are lots of great, free WordPress themes out there, and I hope this new site can help us all cut through the mediocre to get to just the best WordPress themes.

That’s a very nice looking site. If you can keep up a theme a day then it will become a valuable commodity very quickly. I look forward to coming back often to check it out.

Thanks, Frank! I’m anxious to see how it goes. One a day should be easy at the beginning because there are just so many good ones out there. What I’m interested to see, though, is if that stream continues to flow. We’ll see!
