My 23 Favorite Free WordPress Themes
Amazing themes that you can download for free is one of the biggest reasons why I love WordPress — and every week there are more and more available. Smashing Magazine regularly compiles lists of some of the best, but as with anything on the web the landscape is always changing. Themes come and themes go.
So today I wanted to create a list of my favorite free WordPress themes that are available right now. I’ll also continue to post themes in the new WordPress Themes category as I come across them.

Oh, thanks for sharing your favorites.
I’d like to order number 14 meal, please.
Seriously, Shane, I choose Fakeblog. Can you read my e-mail in your convenient time?
Thanks!

Shane,
Free WP themes are great. But occasionally someone will come along with special needs. One example would be developing a theme / strong brand for a blog network. Do you have any suggestions on how to select a good WordPress theme designer?

Great question, Rich. If you don’t know any good WordPress theme designers (and how many people do?), what I would do is find a theme that I *do* like (whether a free theme or a premium theme) and find out how much the designer would charge for a custom design.
You could also try 99designs.com, but for a WordPress theme I think they’d be my second option.
