90-Day Challenge Update

In my first post about the 90-Day Challenge, I forgot to mention that one of the things that made me want to give you motivation for blogging consistently for 90 days was Al Carlton’s answers in this Bloggers Face-Off. I was stunned that someone who had only been blogging for 18 months could have 30,000 page views every day and more than 20,000 feed subscribers. Think about that: 20,000 subscribers. Unreal.

Then I read that he writes 10 to 15 posts a day, has 5 writers on staff and blogs 5 hours/day sometimes. That’s the first time the light bulb really went on for me: unless your content is ground-breaking, miss-at-your-own-peril kind of stuff, you’ve got to be consistent. And even if your content is that vital, you’ll still lose a ton of people if you don’t blog regularly.

So I’m excited to watch how things change for these first five who have committed to the challenge. Be sure to check them out!

And if you need some motivation to get your blog going, join the challenge and let me know!

30,000 page views? If 30 people visited me every day I’d be pleased, no wait my average is a bit more than that. I am enjoying the challenge, as my posts were beginning to dwindle, as were the number of people stopping by. I doubt I’ll ever be employing people to blog for me, actually I wouldn’t want to, it would take out all of the fun as would not knowing my regular visitors.

    Hi Shane,

I was checking Daily Blog Tips and saw you comment and link back so thanks for the mention. Since doing that interview CGs subscribers have increased to 28K which is absolutely insane IMO, but exceedingly nice. You and your readers might be interested to know I am documenting the history of my gadget site on one of my new blogs (see link above).

Great site you have over here, count me in as another subscriber :)

    Cheers

    Al
