Double Your AdSense Revenue Overnight

Google AdSenseAlright, I know I said you need to think beyond AdSense, but I’m also all about grabbing all the low-hanging fruit you can. This is one of those cases.

If you haven’t read Joel Comm’s AdSense Secrets, you need to get a copy. I bought it back when it was $97, but I made that back in a week with a site that was getting less than 100 visitors/day. Now it’s just $19.95. That’s a no-brainer. Fight your way through the obnoxious sales letter, fill out your info, and the next page allows you to buy the book. I make nothing from this; I just really benefited from the info that much.

AdClustr’s 10 Tips to Increase Your AdSense Revenue is also worth a read. I just subscribed to their feed.

You need to be headed toward a site that gets very little of its revenue from AdSense, but there’s no sense not spending an hour or so doubling your AdSense revenue in the meantime.

That’s a great question, Jessalee. You know I love your blog. You’re one of the funniest writers I know.

Because AdSense is contextual — meaning it tries to show ads related to what’s around it on the page — it usually doesn’t do well on blogs like yours because the ads just can’t be targeted very well. Thus, no matter how well-optimized your AdSense placements are, the performance still stinks.

Focus on building your readership up, and then all kinds of opportunities open up to you — from blog sponsorships, to being able to drop affiliate links into posts, to people paying you to review their stuff. Eyeballs are the most important factor for you: http://www.askshane.org/…/sugarlicious-money-from-your-blog.php
