Paris Hilton: Blogging Lessons from the Popular One
Know what happens when you blog about Paris Hilton, and maybe put Paris Hilton in bold once or twice and maybe even Paris Hilton in italics? You find your blog actually ranking in a blog search for Paris Hilton.
I found this out when I posted my goofy Paris Hilton post last week. I must have gotten 25 visitors in just a few hours from people searching for Paris. Yeah, they probably weren’t looking for exactly what I was offering, but more exposure is never a bad thing.
So see if you can turn hot topics into posts on your blog, and see if you find yourself capturing the attention of interested searchers.

A very similar thing happened to me with The Apprentice. I wrote an article about Michelle Sorro, the Apprentice Quitter. I got over 700 visitors just because I had these keyword phrases in the title and content on my blog post. How important it is to write about things that the entire internet market are looking for, even if they may want “information” you aren’t providing! This also proved to me how effective SMO is: I was found by the Apprentice’s website in del.icio.us and the numbers just kept rising! Good post!
